Salem Witch Trials

The Salem Witch Trials is one of the most famous past American tragedies. In 1692, the community of Salem, Massachusetts launched a Puritan inquisition that claimed 25 lives. If I would have been around back then this would have been a really hard time for me or anyone. From just reading the passage I learned that some people are innocent and some are guilty. You can stand before your family, before your neighbors and before your God, and people will still think you are guilty when you are innocent. But the guilty ones don’t always get caught. To be falsely accused of something that you didn’t do makes you have the feeling of being almost hopeless. You can’t do anything about it but to just sit there and take whatever happens to you. If this were me I wouldn’t be able to handle the pressure. You never know whether you will be found guilty and sent to jail or if the court thinks you are telling the truth and you can forget about what happened. I learned in the Salem Witch Trials that no one is always safe. The beat a preacher to the death. Preachers are there to comfort people not to be killed. Innocent people died and guilty people live: Just one of the tragedies that goes on in our World today. Innocent people go to jail while the guilty person is still roaming the streets. You are who you hang with and if you hang with people that get in trouble, people assume you are a troublemaker too!!
Doing this project, I learned something that I have never known. I knew briefly about the Salem witch trials and couldn’t have told you enough to amount to anything. I learned that there actually was a trial determining whether to prove whether the girl is a witch or not. Altogether I thought this activity was very resourceful and helpful, and went along with the Halloween spirit. Halloween is one of my favorite Holidays because you get to dress up as your favorite character or any other type of person.

Shooter

In the book Shooter it shows us what our world is coming to. Kids abusing drugs and being picked on so much, they are depressed, that they will bring guns to school and shoot other kids.“He used prescription drugs and he found ways of getting them.” Many teens and adults in our society are abusing prescription drugs. They find ways of getting them. They buy them; steal them, or fake injuries to be prescribed them.
